Development of 12 Apartments in Warrington Town Centre
Originally Dawsons Music, the Georgian Style building has been transformed from a near derelict warehouse into 12 luxury 1 bed apartments, along with 3 retail units.
Dawsons Music, which was established in 1898, chose 65 Sankey Street as their headquarters before acquiring a further 5 locations around the North West. The business offered a wide variety of instruments, audio equipment, and accessories. The business thrived and quickly became an iconic name in Warringtons music scene.
Unfortunately, due to challenging high street trends and online competition, Dawsons entered into administration in 2020 and moved into a new head office in Haydock after a new buyer was found. The company rebranded as Dawson Music & Sound Ltd.

65 Sankey Street sat empty for 5 years and was eventually acquired by Stone Properties in December 2023. After 26 months, the development was complete. Named Dawson Court.
A nod to the past…
When projects like this get announced, there is always an element of disappointment that another high-street shop is closing, especially one as Iconic as Dawsons Music.
We worked alongside the developer to try and retain as many original features of the building, along with continuing the story of Dawsons Music. One of the original signs was found in the basement of the building, which we cleaned up and re-erected in the communal area of the apartments.

With rents ranging from £750pcm to £900pcm, the building quickly became a hit with tenants in search of their new home. All residential units were let-agreed within 4 weeks of the scheme being complete.
